A diverse array of artwork, including graffiti-based art, prints, paintings, photographs and more, including a mural created by youth from True Skool, a Milwaukee organization that provides arts education and community service opportunities to youth.

4934 is a self-portrait of myself as a boy looking out from 4934. I wanted to portray a violent and decaying exterior with an interior that leads to nowhere. Albany Park, Chicago in the 80’s and 90’s was a place where I learned to adapt to the interior and exterior. The painting is of a boy and it is my way of reflecting back to what made me the person I am today. It is my way of paying homage and my hopes to connect with viewers who grew up in similar low-budget environments and if not, I want the viewers to feel the image like a sucker punch to the gut.

“Indigo” Directed by Peter Migin

Indigo is a shade of our previous release “Plain & Simple”. It is the first song, sparking the beginning of “The Collapse of a Mcdonaldlize Society”. Our intent was that “Plain & Simple” would be our last release as Maintenance Crew but our love for Hip Hop and our fans didn’t want us to end abruptly. Every ending follows up with a new beginning and “The Collapse…” is just that, like the coming and going of the sun and seasons that creeps ahead. We celebrate the fall of Maintenance Crew with “The Collapse…” and Indigo is the birth before the age and before the death.

In collaboration with Muddy Water Sound Banks we finally turned out our last project as i depart on my journey. “The Collapse of a Mcdonaldlize Society” has been in the works since we wrapped up “plain and simple” which was released in winter 2008. “The Collapse..” contains 18 mouth savoring tracks produced by myself and Ubiquity (Mcdonaldlize Society). Selfish of the Green Llama clan also blessed us with beats and rhymes on a song entitled “the prestige”. Making this project has been a struggle and was difficult due to all the speed bumps but we pulled through with the help of our fellows. Special thanks goes out to Alicia Rodriguez, Pablo (La Armada), Orlando Prieto,Yusai Nakamura, Marmora, Decay & selfish (Green Llamas), and Dj Jaz (Alex Jasso) who came through and help with the fall of what may be the end….

“My Good Side” leads us into the beginning of what starts to fall apart. The new single contains a sample of Cocorosie’s classic song “by your side”. As the Beat is repeating “i will always be by your side” we all know as adults that this is not true in all relationships, romantically or whatever kind it is. How ever we tend to believe all things that is repeated; for example if there is a Mcdonald’s on every other block a half mile apart, our minds will believe they have tasty burgers, or if I were to dumb it down with the analogy of LIL Wayne’s new song being played 100 times a day and sells millions; our minds unfortunately concludes that he is best rapper alive. Take a listen for yourself “My Good Side” and make your own conclusion.

Welcome folks, www.chantalism.com is dead! this will be my new place where i will be sharing my works and ideas; from music to visual arts and whatever else i got my hands into. Stay tune for more from yours truly as I am getting ready to move to Milwaukee and gangbangin’ my way through the MA/MFA program at UW-Milwaukee this coming Fall 201o. As for Maintenance Crew, we just finally completed “The Collapse of a Mcdonaldlize Society” and is set for a September release. We got new music videos and new music in the works and will be out soon. For now it’s all Fortys and Blunts till Autumn comes and steal our hearts; taking us into the dead season.
